Now one of the broadcaster’s unions has written to the ABC board to urge that Shier be reigned in. HOLLYWOOD WRITERS’ STRIKE? MAYBE NOT: “[T]he two sides’ bargaining positions aren’t really all that far apart. DRIPPER’S LEGACY: Ed Harris’s riveting portrayal of one of the 20th century’s most fascinating artists has earned “Pollock” an Oscar nod and critical raves. But art historians have been irked by Harris’s decision to make it seem as if Jackson Pollock’s innovations were nothing more than an outgrowth of his descent into madness. “Pollock’s epiphany likely didn’t arise out of locking himself in a Greenwich Village walkup for three weeks, as the film suggests.
