Cleveland Newspaper Muzzles Its Classical Music Critic
Longtime Cleveland Plain Dealer classical music critic Donald Rosenberg has been pulled from writing about the Cleveland Orchestra. Rosenberg has been critical of the orchestra’s music director, Franz Welser-Möst. “Ultimately, this calculated attack on a music critic doing his job casts a suspicious light on his detractors and their motivations.”
Last Of The Steinways – Henry, 93
Henry Z. Steinway, the great-grandson of the founder of the legendary piano-making company, died Thursday in New York. He was 93. He was the last of his family to run the company that was started in 1853. The company was sold to CBS Corp. in 1977.
