To most orchestras, “youth outreach” means packing a couple thousand kids into a concert hall and playing music at them for an hour or so. But the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra is offering four local junior high students an opportunity to really get inside the orchestra’s head – the four will join the SPCO for its upcoming European tour, and will report back to their classmates via blogs, radio, and video.

Meadow Steps Aside At Manhattan Theatre Club
Lynne Meadow has been the artistic force behind New York’s Manhattan Theatre Club fo 34 years is stepping away for a season beginning next fall. Daniel Sullivan will step in as acting artistic director, and has been consulting with Ms. Meadow on the 2007-8 season.
Opera’s Monster Couple

Management are driven mad by the demands of the Burton and Taylor of the operatic world, but they know the duo are a bonanza at the box office. Both sides ramp up the process: the top houses compete furiously for the stars’ services; the stars become ever more outrageous in their behaviour. And so it goes on, until something snaps.”
Why No Theatre About The Nativity?
“Given that most of our leading playwrights, directors and actors have at some point appeared in a Nativity play during their formative years, it’s surprising more of them haven’t been drawn to tell the story of the Nativity, or other aspects of the life of Christ, in their adult work.”
